I am so thrilled to announce the success of our Tea Honoring Pacific Palisades Senior Citizens. As a Realtor working with Seniors and their Families, time and time again it comes up that seniors are looking for engagement, interaction and activities. This event really proved to me how we can directly support seniors and contribute to their happiness.

This was a first time event, knowing it is important for me to:
Support Seniors in engagement, interaction and activities.
The interaction with Pali High School students was a big part of what we were trying to achieve in engagement. The high school students were excited to engage with the seniors. We had a list of questions for the students to ask seniors if they needed a little help in getting the conversation started. They talked about what attracted them to move to the Palisades, telling stories about their families, whether their kids went to Pali High etc.
While some seniors needed no encouragement in engaging, in fact Lee Calvert was so grateful for the event, she said she would pick this over any cocktail party etc. She literally had a circle of high school students holding on her every word. It was truly so moving to watch.
Other seniors came up to me to say they want to do meets up in the village, they want to meet new people and engage in activities. One senior is looking for bridge, they were not shy in expressing their interests and wants. That was the whole purpose, what can we do to make seniors lives better, more active and stimulating.
A violinist in the band, LA FAZ, who performed during the tea, talked to one senior, a music teacher, who shared her background and expertise in the music business.
I was so grateful for the high school students who helped out with the event and knowing we are on the right path to recognize and provide support to seniors. We're all busy but think how important it is for them to have some variety.
I am posting to a facebook page generated for Pacific Palisades Senior Social Club.

I was so happy to be joined by fellow community supporter Tameron Keyes who after hearing the idea jumped on board to help co-host this event and make it special for the seniors."
